The Team
George Betts was appointed as General Manager in April 2008. For 6 years before this he was Vessel Operations Manager, a role he now combines with his new responsibilities. He is a Master Mariner with 37 years sea-going experience within the British Merchant Navy. He is a native Falkland Islander and well respected for his extensive knowledge of the sea around the Falklands.
Janet Robertson is the Sales & Marketing manager and has been with CFL in a variety of roles since 1998. She is a Falkland Islander and currently combines her role with that of Member of the Legislative Council for Falkland Islands Government.
Phoebe Socodo-Reid joined CFL in April 2007 as Office Administrator. In addition to her administrative role, Phoebe is responsible for crew recruitment and wages for which her fluent Spanish is an advantage.
Michele Tonner joined CFL in December 2007 as financial controller. She previously worked for Falkland Islands Government and has lived in the Islands since October 2004
Owen Betts is Assistant Vessel Operations Manager. Now that his father, George, has been promoted to General Manager, Owen has taken over increasing responsibility for vessel operations. His previous experience as a boatman and sailor has given him good grounding in this role.
